Neighbourhood Management. What does it really mean?
Neighbourhood Management. What does it really mean? It will mean different things to different people and recognising this is vital. I want our Neighbourhood Managers of the future to manage short, medium and long term visioning and problem solving. They will know and understand the communities within which they work. They will regularly roll up their sleeves and work alongside those communities to understand and then empower the people to make a real difference. From the council perspective they will OWN the problems within their communities and, through partnership, will problem solve their issues and constantly update the councillors and the public on their actions. They WILL be accessible, responsive and accountable with a can-do attitude. This will drive forward all of our satisfaction indicators within the Local Area Agreement. The Neighbourhood Managers will work closely with locality based childrens services teams and we will all work under the new Council Area committees to make a difference.
