Five Mosques joint activity promote the message of peace

I participated in a very special event organised in partnership with all the five mosques in Peterborough last Sunday 22 March 2009 (2 pm-4.30 pm). The event commemorated the birth of Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) and his message of peace in relation to family, neighbours, community and non-Muslims, with national and local Islamic scholars attending to share their understanding of the theme.

The event was held at the Gladstone Community Centre, Bourges Boulevard, Peterborough, with over 300 people coming along, including members from many different ethnic communities and faiths.

An interesting exhibition of Persian calligraphy was also on display.

General feedback from participants indicated that this was a great opportunity to improve mutual understanding and promote stronger cohesion.
